Athletic Training Room General Information
Athletic Training services are provided exclusively for intercollegiate and club sport student-athletes of UC Merced and student-athletes from visiting teams. As a student-athlete you must adhere to regulations, responsibilities and obligations identified by the Athletic Training Staff's policies and procedures. Prior to engaging in any athletic related team activity student-athletes are required to have a pre-participation physical examination and provide personal insurance information.
UC Merced Athletes are supported by the Athletic Training staff who are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients. Athletic training encompasses the prevention, assesment, and intervention of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities. A Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) is an individual who has an undergraduate degree and has passed the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification Exam.
The Athletic Training Program utilizes the close relationships and collaborates with the UC Merced Health Center as well as community orthopedists and physical therapists to deliver well-rounded and exceptional care to our student-athletes.
